Busy week..

‘Following the bank holiday Warwick meeting we have a further fifteen summer jump fixtures including the mixed card at Haydock on Saturday. Whilst on the flat there a number of higher quality cards led by the three day Chester May meeting starting Wednesday.

Three jump meetings on Tuesday with Ffos Las and Fakenham in the afternoon. The feature of the latter is two valuable chases to complete the card, there are also notable distance increases to all races. Worcester then race in the evening. Wednesday brings Kelso, Newton Abbot and an evening card from Fontwell.

On Thursday it is Huntingdon in the afternoon and Stratford in the evening. The ground at Stratford is currently on the firm side of Good, daily watering is scheduled from the start of the week. Another who intend to start early watering are Market Rasen for their meeting on Friday with Hereford providing the evening action.

Into the weekend with a pair of Saturday evening cards from Hexham and a return to Warwick followed by Ludlow and Plumpton on Sunday. There should be opportunities for us throughout the week to get the summer season moving further forwards.

Over to the flat with what promises to be another informative week with plenty making seasonal debuts with an eye towards the impending Epsom and Royal Ascot meetings. Chester get underway on Wednesday with the Group Three Chester Vase and the Listed Cheshire Oaks as their feature events of the day. Another Group Three and Listed on Thursday and a Group Two to conclude the meeting on Friday. Elsewhere from Friday onwards we have good quality from the two-dayer at Ascot, the Derby and Oaks trials at Lingfield, Haydock and a valuable Newcastle card on Sunday. There are also a number of significant races worth monitoring in Ireland and France through the week.

A fairly cool start to the week with temperatures forecast to rise as we approach the weekend. As the dry period continues it intensifies the need for courses to receive rain.’
