Sustained period of high class flat racing…

‘Subdued start to the week which builds towards a sustained period of high class flat racing commencing with the King George card at Ascot on Saturday quickly followed by the Glorious Goodwood meeting.

My week begins with the seven race jumps card at Cartmel on Monday. Both Tuesday and Wednesday are dominated by low grade flat racing which is essentially bookmaker fodder and of no interest to me from a professional betting perspective. On Thursday we have jumps from Worcester and a Listed at Sandown. Similar on Friday with Uttoxeter and an interesting Listed at York in the evening.

Highlight of the week is the Ascot card on Saturday with the feature being the Group One King George plus two Group Three races and a Listed. At York we also have a Group Two. The week closes with a return to Uttoxeter for a good prize money card and Pontefract feature a Listed. Then the following week brings us a host of top class flat action with the five day Glorious Goodwood meeting.

Whilst we start the week with testing conditions at Cartmel, there is a more settled weather pattern for the week ahead than we have experienced recently. This should provide more consistency to the going and present opportunities for us.’
