Summer season…

‘After the main jumps campaign concluded with a high profile climax to the trainers’ title we now head towards the summer season.

Over the jumps we have the five day Punchestown Festival commencing Tuesday. The Irish strength and depth led by the Willie Mullins yard shown at the recent major festivals at Cheltenham and Aintree and again last Saturday at Sandown, will be even more formidable on home soil.

The British summer jumps season gets underway with a late afternoon Hunters’ card at Cheltenham on Friday. Then on Saturday there are two further meetings from Hexham and Uttoxeter, both with some decent prize money. The current prolonged spell of faster ground has already produced a significant amount of the spring/summer types making their way on course. Throughout May there are a total of forty-five summer jumps fixtures.

The flat season takes a long stride forward with the opening two Classics of the season as Newmarket stage their three day Guineas meeting from Friday. There are also a number of Listed races throughout the week worth attention plus a very good card featuring two Group races at Ascot on Wednesday.

It has all the makings of a fast start to the five month summer season. During this period I concentrate on the better quality flat along with the summer jumps. Special terms are now available for the summer season, further details on the link below.’
