Crucial claim?

Going to concentrate on the two listed races at Market Rasen today. The going at the Lincolnshire track is on the soft side of good. No non-runners at this stage.

Early price value is in short supply today for the races I am interested in.

3.55 2m½f 188bet.co.uk Prelude Handicap Hurdle (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo+)

Very competitive in which a case can be made for most of the fifteen runners.

James Bowen’s 7lb claim could prove crucial on Red Tornado.

Difficult to price, however I put Red Tornado as my 5/1 fav provisionally which is a point above the general price currently on offer.

4.30 2m5½f 188bet.co.uk Prelude Handicap Chase (Listed Race) (Class 1) (4yo+)

Another highly competitive affair as the fourteen declared battle it out for the biggest prize on the card of over £28,000 to the winner.

Junction Fourteen is potentially on a fair handicap mark and is worth a look at big odds. Currently 16/1 generally.

Ballybolley disappointed on latest start at Galway, but held every chance when falling previously.

Guitar Pete is of most interest. Although not straightforward, he has run well on last two starts. Lost his balance when hitting the running rail on the home turn at Perth last time, then stayed on well. He is expected to figure.

Again difficult to price – the 7/1 on offer this morning for Guitar Pete looks about right.
