Another week in which the weather was a dominant factor with every likelihood of this continuing the coming week.

The main highlight of a very selective week was the frontrunning victory by Silver Hallmark at Haydock at a generally available 3/1.

Again Steve’s additional race analysis and pricing proved beneficial.

‘Great credit must go to the ground staff for all their hard work during this current spate of bad weather.

Thankfully the best racing of last week went ahead on Saturday. Whilst there were those who made the headlines to put themselves in the Cheltenham Festival picture, there were also others that could be quietly noted for when we eventually get better ground.

Prospects for the week ahead are mixed and we already have no jumps racing on Tuesday. Whilst temperatures are set to rise, the complexity of thawing ice and snow along with prolonged rainfall on testing ground are going to present problems for even the best courses and staff.

On Saturday we have two top quality meetings with Doncaster and Cheltenham supplying nine graded and listed races. Cheltenham are optimistic that they can beat the weather but expect the meeting to be run on heavy ground.

It is a time when a selective considered approach is essential.’
